CALL FOR EDITOR

Jannetti Publications, Inc., has issued a call for Editor for Pediatric Nursing. For more than 50 years, Pediatric Nursing has covered the latest advances, trends, and research in child health care. Pediatric Nursing features articles relevant for pediatric nurses in a variety of settings, from hospital to home and school, and with a variety of skills, from preventive to acute care. The Editor plays a key role in orchestrating the content of the journal and is essential to the success of the publication. The Editor works closely with Pediatric Nursing’s managing editor and editorial coordinator to produce the journal six times per year. 


Pediatric Nursing, a refereed, evidence-based, and clinically focused journal, publishes original articles pertinent to pediatric nursing and care of the pediatric patient. Pediatric Nursing conveys news related to issues and developments in practice, technology, and research as they pertain to child health and nursing care. Subject matter may be of interest to the interdisciplinary readership or be of unique relevance to the subspecialist. Through the written media, Pediatric Nursing promotes the journal’s goals: to be recognized by health care professionals, patients, their families, and the public as the nursing authority on collaborative, compassionate and culturally competent pediatric care; to provide opportunities for health care providers to analyze, discuss, and exchange information pertaining to the field of pediatric nursing; to promote high professional standards of quality and safe patient care; and to enrich the professional lives of Pediatric Nursing readership through education, research, and evidence-based clinical practice.


Prerequisites

1. Active subscriber of Pediatric Nursing in good standing.

2. Upholds and supports Pediatric Nursing’s structure, mission, and vision.

3. Willingness to devote appropriate time to journal activities (such as working closely with authors, editing manuscripts, attending Editorial Board meetings).

4. Strong organizational and communication skills.

5. Ability to meet deadlines.

6. Knowledge of experts in field; professional visibility.

7. Knowledge and clinical expertise in pediatric nursing preferred.

8. Evidence of publication.

9. Awareness of publication process.

10. Manuscript review experience, and knowledge of peer review process and issues.

11. Prior editorial experience is preferred.

12. Ability to attend two (2) Editorial Board Meeting each year (remote), as well as participate in regular calls with editorial staff, authors, and manuscript reviewers. Possible travel to journal office.
